Star Trek: The Adventure - 2002

While we were over in England for christmas, we went to the Star Trek: Adventure event that was in Hyde Park. We always go into London over christmas, and it seemed a perfect opportunity to see Star Trek. (Well, actually Elaine pretty much commanded we see it!!!). Anyway, it was an interesting show. Lot's of exhibits, and a 'tour' of the real next generation bridge at the end. Big downside was that some of the stuff on display was of *very* questionable quality - especially a few of the props. Oh, and it was way expensive to get in - almost 40 pounds for two people (that's 60-65 dollars).

Here are some photos from the trip. The images here are 640*480, but you can click on some of them for a much larger 1152*864 version. The page may take a couple of minutes to load.

At the start of the exhibits!

This was pretty much the beginning of the exhibits. No, they're not ghosts, just a slow exposure ;-)

exhibits!!

This is an example of some of the stuff there.

More exhibits!

This was some sort of missile (duh), but I'm not sure what it was from. Many of the
exhibits/props were very badly labelled. In fact, most had no labels. This was to get
you to shell out another three pounds ($5) for the audio tour. We actually got one, and
it sucked. Don't bother if you go - it's not worth it.

The original series bridge!

Well, you probably don't need me to tell you where this is...

Jeri Ryan - AKA Seven Of Nines' uniform!!

This is Seven of Nines Uniform played by Jeri Ryan. By the way, the waist on this was absolutely tiny.

The next Generation Bridge

This is the Next Generation series bridge, and was part of the end tour. It felt rather cheesy while
we were there, but the photo looks good.

The next Generation Bridge (Second Shot)

Another shot of the bridge. Part of the tour, was a simulated borg attack (see above shot for
aforementioned cube ;). As you can see in this one, the Borg were kickin' ass again.

A model Borg Cube

All of the marks you can see on the plastic display protector are peoples fingerprints. The staff didn't even
bother cleaning them off. There was no information telling you if this was actually used
in production or was just made for kicks.

NCC-1701-A

The Enterprise.

Consoles

This was in the armory, but I'm not sure from what series. (Again, nothing was labelled).
I think it's from Enterprise, as there were other Enterprise props nearby.

The Warp Core

Again, this was from the end tour, and is of course inside the next generation warp core.
Some cheesy fog effects tried to simulate a warp core breach, but it didn't work too well.
The lighting on the other hand was quite good.
